After years of often daily attempts at humour and virtually any stray thought I could snare on my keyboard, I'm changing the name of this space from Such Is Life, to May I Present:. That should still allow me to post on a wide variety of topics, but steer the focus for readers to my most common writing efforts now, on Folk, Roots, Blues & Americana music! Chirpy Little Buggers...
I had to evict our chattery tenants yesterday. Well, I only technically evicted their nest. The birds and their new offspring had already pulled a midnight move, despite our allowing them to live in our kitchen exhaust pipe until they had successfully raised their hatchlings. We had hoped to see the baby birds make their inaugural flight, but the ungrateful buggers just vacated...
Of course, there was a bit of trauma prior to their departure. The roofers must have scared the bird poop right out of them all with their racket replacing the shingles. And of course MTDG's cooking certainly didn't create an ideal, smoke-free environment to raise their young. The poor little guys must have thought they were at a Pink Floyd concert...
They have moved on - and a sign is up for next season. We're getting some higher rents next time around!
Chow for now!!

WHAT???? OMG! When did you do this? Oh, oh, only feather remaining and what an amazing nest! Oh shoot, I miss all the exciting stuff! I wonder if anyone can identify what kind of bird it is?! I still don't know. It is hard to tell from the picture but the adult bird you show here is actually very, very small. Awww, all cleaned out, next year they will look for their home and shed a bird tear as they have to scramble to find a new home for their new babies....sigh....
I think they were Exhausting Pipers???
