Decided to address our cabin fever yesterday by taking a short drive along the Trans-Canada Highway. Under an hour from our garage door is Kananaskis, just before Banff. Very picturesque, with delightful walking trails – featuring spectacular views. Plus, we had heard that elk were in the area, and hoped to see some of these reindeer-like aminals…

Alas, as we were heading up the final stretch to our destination, it was starting to snow, so we chickened out and turned back towards home. Good, thing, as we found out later watching The Weather Network that the avalanche risk in Kananaskis was “considerable”.

Egads!

Still, we did stop to snap a few pictures. No elk…

Chow for now!

Beautiful! It was a fun adventure! We started out sitting on our deck in the sunshine in the morning, just gorgeous and 1 hr after we returned homes it was snowing like the dickens! That's Calgary!
